Tarot 101: Foundations of Tarot
Whether you've just purchased your first deck or have been pulling cards for years without feeling fully confident, this course is designed to give you the foundation you've been looking for.
Tarot 101 is a comprehensive two-part course for beginner to intermediate readers who want to understand the cards beyond memorization. Together, we'll explore the history and evolution of tarot, debunk common misconceptions, discuss the ethics of reading, and build a strong understanding of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck.
You'll learn the structure of the tarot, including the Major and Minor Arcana, court cards, numerology, symbolism, and the elements. From there, we'll begin developing your intuition through practical exercises, helping you interpret cards with confidence rather than relying solely on guidebooks.
We'll also cover how to prepare for a reading, formulate meaningful questions, cleanse and connect with your deck, use a variety of tarot spreads, understand reversals, and confidently read for yourself and others. Throughout the course, you'll participate in hands-on activities, partner exercises, journaling prompts, and practice readings designed to strengthen your skills in a supportive environment.
By the end of this course, you'll have more than just an understanding of what each card means—you'll have the confidence to tell the story the cards are revealing. Whether your goal is personal growth, spiritual exploration, or eventually reading professionally, you'll leave with the tools to build a tarot practice that feels authentic, ethical, and uniquely your own.
